Kelly Lynn Ferguson grew up in the small, close-knit town of Enumclaw, WA, nestled at the base of Mount Rainier, where her love for horses and the natural world began. This early connection to nature later shaped her passion for Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy. Before entering the field of mental health, Kelly pursued a career as an opera singer, earning a Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Postgraduate Degree in Vocal Performance from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Her background in music gave her a deep appreciation for the emotional complexities of the human experience, which she now brings into her work as a therapist.
In her practice, Kelly emphasizes cultural sensitivity and empathy, reflecting her commitment to inclusive and respectful therapeutic practices. She has extensive experience running the Equine Counseling Services Program for the Muckleshoot Indian Tribe and currently works with the Nisqually Indian Tribe’s Equine Assisted Services Program. Kelly also spent time in community mental health at Valley Cities Behavioral Healthcare, where she worked with complex cases and a diverse population. Her approach combines traditional therapy with experiential methods, offering clients a compassionate and supportive space for healing and personal growth.
Kelly specializes in guiding individuals and couples through life transitions, emotional healing, and relationship dynamics. Her trauma-informed approach emphasizes personal growth, focusing on areas like grief, loss, and anxiety. Kelly also supports those rebuilding after significant life changes, creating a client-centered experience tailored to each individual's needs.
Kelly uses an integrative theoretical approach, drawing from Family Systems, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Humanistic Existential Theory, and Adlerian psychology. This blend of theories allows her to offer a well-rounded, holistic experience that is both evidence-based and deeply personal. She is also a certified CCAR Recovery Coach, WA State Certified Peer Counselor, and QPR Suicide Prevention Trainer, further enhancing the scope of her care.
Her practice is available year-round through telehealth, with seasonal equine therapy and creative music and art offerings throughout the year. Whether helping individuals find personal empowerment or assisting couples with relationship repair, Kelly creates a safe, growth-oriented space for healing.

"I'm striking the balance between being a super basic ice coffee drinking, TikTok, reality TV-loving queen and a wanna be worldly sophisticate! I love exploring different cultures through international travel and enjoy picking up new languages. I've studied French, Italian and German pretty extensively. You’ll also find me spending time with my English Mastiff Tsumo out in nature, enjoying live music, or singing with my partner, who is a pianist.
Plus, I always make time for my horse, Murtie."
